Terms of Service
Last updated 16 September 2026
These terms govern your use of RemDev Chat. By creating an account you agree to them. If you are agreeing on behalf of a business, you are confirming you are allowed to.
What the service is
We host an AI chat assistant for your website. You give it information about your business; it answers your visitors' questions using that information, and shows you what they asked. You add it to your site with a single script tag.
What it does not do
- No uptime guarantee. We aim to keep the service running and we tell you in your dashboard when part of it is not, but we do not promise uninterrupted availability. The AI provider is a third party and can be slow or unavailable; when it is, your chatbot will apologise to visitors rather than answer.
- Not a substitute for a person. The chatbot is a first point of contact. It is not a booking system, a payment system, or a way to confirm anything binding.
- We may change or withdraw features. We will tell you before making a change that materially reduces what you are paying for.
Your responsibilities
- Keep your login details to yourself, and tell us promptly if you think someone else has them.
- Only give the chatbot information you are entitled to use.
- Have a lawful basis for the personal information your visitors give you through the chat and the enquiry form. You are the controller of that information; we process it on your instructions. See our Privacy Policy.
- Do not use the service to break the law, to harass anyone, or to answer questions about anything you are not allowed to advise on.
- Do not attempt to bypass the rate limits, resell the service as your own, or use one plan's chatbots across more websites than it allows.
We may suspend an account that is being used in these ways, or that is being used in a way that threatens the service for other customers. Where we can, we will tell you first.
Plans, billing and cancellation
- Plans are billed monthly in advance, in US dollars, through Paddle. Paddle is the merchant of record: it handles the payment, the tax, and the invoice.
- Changing plan takes effect on your next billing date. Right now that means emailing us; self-serve changes are coming.
- You can cancel at any time. Your chatbot keeps working until the end of the period you have already paid for, and then stops. No contract, no notice period.
- If a payment fails we will email you and try again before suspending the account.
- Refunds are covered by our Refund Policy.
Your content, and ours
What you put in — your business information, your logo, your wording — stays yours. We use it only to run the service for you. The software, the dashboard and the widget are ours, and these terms do not give you any rights over them beyond using the service.
Liability
We do not exclude liability where the law does not allow it, including for fraud. Beyond that:
- We are not liable for lost profits, lost business, or lost goodwill — including a customer of yours deciding not to buy because of something the chatbot said.
- Our total liability in any month is limited to the amount you paid us for that month.
- We are not responsible for a third-party AI or hosting provider's outage, or for anything outside our reasonable control.
Ending the agreement
You can close your account whenever you like. We can end it with 30 days' notice, or immediately if these terms are broken. When an account closes, its bots, conversations and enquiries are deleted — see the Privacy Policy for what is kept and for how long.
Which law applies
These terms are governed by the laws of Botswana, and the courts of Botswana have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer somewhere else, this does not take away any rights you have where you live.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will update the date at the top and email you about anything significant before it takes effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept them.
